Join members of the Eastern Penn Mushroomers club for a morning mushroom experience! ‘Forays’ are not for foraging edible fungi species but instead intend to gather information and identification of all the fungi species living in an area. Join club members and parks’ staff to collect and identify the fungal species of Antietam Lake Park! Information about safe mushrooming practices will be shared before exploring the park’s terrain to collect and record species of interest. If you’ve ever wondered about the fantastic fungi in your area- this program will educate and elucidate! Geared towards participants ages 10+ due to uneven terrain and fungi collection. Held rain or shine, dress accordingly!
