Allegheny Aqueduct Historical Park/Beidler House

The Allegheny Aqueduct Historical Park is the site of the 18th century Beidler House, Beidler Mill, and Allegheny Aqueduct. Conrad Beidler built the house in 1783 near his families saw and grist mills, believed to have been constructed on the site around 1765. The Parks’ department restored the house in the early 1990s. Constructed in 1824, the Allegheny Aqueduct provided access over the Allegheny Creek for the Schuylkill Canal/Navigation System which. Spanning 112 feet, the Schuylkill Greenway association restored this “bridge for boats” in 1990. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Allegheny Aqueduct Historical Park is open for special events throughout the year.
